Couture particularly lends itself to all kinds of luxury and extravagance. For its autumn/winter made-to-measure collection, Maison Natan deploys volumes of femininity with eccentric and sober mixes, and sensualized garçonne lines.
The fashion show took place on the majestic square of the Brussels Musée des Beaux-Arts, presenting a pictorial collection of timeless silhouettes. Monet’s painting inspired the gentleness of the motifs through the balance of pointillist touches in a meticulous creation, anchored in the company’s ateliers under Haute Couture design conditions, closely allied to an art of delicate swathes of bewitching colours.
At the origin of the collection’s emotion: colourful fabric with intense botanical shades. The colour of winter will be green, vibrant, or interpreted in soft prints, combining and illuminating the seasons. Gathered tulle and transparent cotton lace, the natural and technical materials have body and subtly reveal it; the cuts evoke roundness, like the Couture of the 50s reinterpreted in contemporary textures, to breathe authentic modernity into each meticulously worked dress, with enveloping and slit capes, paradoxically supremely seductive and protective.
In the spirit of the anticipated holiday season, Edouard Vermeulen has developed spectacularly large volumes for Maison Natan, extrapolating their graphic dimension to design luxurious, individualistic pieces. This season lengths are accentuated and the sleeves exaggerated. A deliberate bias towards over-dimensioned creations, which gives each unique piece its Couture meaning. Summer is already refreshing, but the carefree bouquets of felted tulle are blooming. Combining with the floral aspect of green in winter, the superimpositions are refined and contrast aesthetically with the sophisticated juxtaposition of black and white, enhancing the design of modern silhouettes and, for the pleasure of everyone, elegantly audacious.
